Juliet, Justin, Lily and Gerry are over this weekend, performing an extreme makeover of the kitchen cabinet contents - ALL of them. They are getting ruthless shelf by shelf and challenging me on what is really needed and what isn't. There are some pangs of sadness coming up for me. This was something Sharon liked doing herself, and many of the dishes and spices and so forth remind me of my love.
And ... I'm happy to see the contents of the kitchen cabinets cleaned out and vastly simplified. This was part of the house that had yet to be touched since Sharon's passing and it needed help anyway when Sharon was here.
Here are some pics I took a couple of hours ago. It's crazy right this minute as I type this. I'm sitting at the kitchen table, staying out of the way.
I am thankful for the loving, caring way they are proceeding through the shelves. This is part of a process I've been working on lately, to update the kitchen some. Stan Barnes came over and replaced the fluorescent lights with dimmable recessed lamps that give as much light as the fluorescents, without being so harsh and bright.
OK, back to work .... of staying out the way. Busy busy busy here.
