So by popular demand I've pulled together a family video podcast of 'the big event' of preparing for the Prom.
This elegant dress was designed by Lily with generous help from Grandma Gerry and a couple of frantic calls to Auntie Patti. New shoes and my goodness -- Lily is as tall as I with those heels. She was so proud.
On Saturday (May 12th) the family drove down to be with Lauren Parish at her wedding shower. I think I mentioned this in an earlier post. Justin, Fred, and I hung out at the Galleria while the girls did their ritual. Then we drove straight back to Justin and Juliet's place so Lily could get ready for her Prom.
There Juliet did her magic and I got the process on video tape for you to see, along with video of Lily in her dress. Hope you enjoy it.
love
Tom
Dear Lily:
I just read more closely your Dad's commentary and discovered you designed your prom dress...
It is just beautiful and so very elegant. Fashion design major in college? - one of many majors you could choose and be successful in.

Dear Tom and Lily:
Thank you for sharing Lily's prom preparation and filming her lovely countenance (enhanced by the makeup artistry of Juliet for Prom night) and her beautifully fitted and elegant green prom gown (lovingly created and hand fashioned by dear Grandmother Gerry). What I would give for that beautiful natural strawberry auburn hair. I had to laugh at Lily trying to find the entrance at Austin Women's Center, as I did exactly the same thing for an event there at Christmas time. It is a wonderful old limestone villa from the 19th century - a true Austin treasure and such a great and romantic place to celebrate Prom night!
Not many young women have a Dad that takes such a loving interest in filming and narrating the special events of their lives. You are a truly a special Dad extraordinaire, Tom. Thank you for sharing this event in Lily's life. She is a true beauty, both inside and out. We all know that.
Love, Jill
