Sunday a Day of Rest

To all:

We're all resting today. Sharon is resting and Lily slept in - she stayed up reading but she feels rested. She's over at grandma Gerry's cutting out the dress for her 8th grade graduation party.  I have some pictures there and I'll post them this afternoon.

About Sharon - I've been relucant to talk a lot of her condition in detail but I feel more ok with doing so now. 

Like Justin posted earlier, we all found ourselves thick with expectation to see a more immediate change, really pulling for one more chance to have Sharon open her eyes.  The reality of the importance of patience is with us now and I feel more at ease when I'm sitting there with her.   As Stanley says, she may tune into you more if you're relaxed and exploring your own sense of self, peace, kindness and beauty. It's something she so strongly resonates in herself so find that place for yourself today - just as it is and enjoy and relax. She will be back. This I know is what she wants for all.

Lily and I were talking last night. In many ways this (Sharon being absent from our home) is so familiar. When Sharon would travel to New Zealand or South Africa she would be gone 2-3 weeks.  We'd have 5-7 days go by at times before we would hear from her. It was very difficult for her to get a phone or write an email. And, she always came back and told us so many amazing stories about her travels. We're looking to hear all about these too.

Here are some things you may want to know about Sharon's medical situation as best I can explain. The first couple of days (after settingly from the trauma) she was having very noticable seizures every few minutes.  The doctors put her back on a medication to calm those down, and this mixture has a strong sedative inside it. So, she really is sleeping now for 1-3 days and it's sleep I believe she really really needs.

The CT scan from Saturday revealed some swelling and no bleeding. So we breathed a sigh of relief on that part.

All her organs are fine. Color is good. Temperature is normal now, chemistry is normal, heart rate and blood pressure is fine. All is fine while she sleeps.

According to Gerry (I'm paraphrasing here) Sharon will be weaned off this anti-seizure medication and put on something else that does not have a sedative. This will occur in around 48 hrs.  Then slowly they will change the breathing machine to give her a chance to start breathing on her own.

Knowing Sharon the way I do - I've seen her go inside a find a place to heal herself. On those times when the family was sick with flu she would find her way to heal herself and so often it worked. She's always sought doctors (traditional and untraditional) that she could have a personal connection - in the rather unique way Sharon can see and feel into a person - she wanted to sense what was coming from the doctor too to meet her on her level. I remember times when she found a doctor that wasn't on her wavelength (big or small) - she didn't return, ever, when that happened.

There have been times when she was ill and she took a large blanket and sleep outside on the ground. The next day, she felt and looked 100% better.  I reae this current trauma isn't something she can handle this way. I know, though, that Sharon has her mysterous side that can connect and heal in ways I've yet to really understand. This I'll say again is part of why I love her so much.

I am certain this week is difficult for Sharon with all the medications pulsing through her body.  She isn't allergic to things but she's never been one to take medications unless truly needed and only in small amounts.

I know Sharon is and will want to be off at least the stronger medications as soon as it makes sense. I know she's going to want to seek ways to heal herself and she will do that - I am sure. For now, though, we're holding her hand as she walks through this darkness.

It's a glorious Sunday. Temperature in Austin is in the 70s and a fine breeze is present. I'm headed up to see Sharon now.

I told people at work about Sharon yesterday and one woman shared with me that she would send it out to her cats, because they always hold the strongest space for healing to her. She suggested to allow the animal spirits to take care of it, which I thought was touching the way she chose to get involved with a stranger and that she would take action toward supporting, not only Sharon, but her family as well.
